Every user must follow certain procedures to generate CSR in windows. Here are few steps that will guide the user to generate CSR in windows.
Step 1: Select Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
Step 2: Select the server where you wish to generate the certificate.
Step 3: Click on the Server Certificates.
Step 4: Select ‘Create Certificate Request’.
Step 5: Fill in the CSR details in the Distinguished Name Properties section.
Step 6: Select a cryptographic service provider and bit length.
Step 7: Specify the location where you want to save the CSR as a “.txt” file.
Step 8: Open the newly created CSR from the specified location to generate the order and copy all the text displayed.
Once the CSR is generated, the validation process has to be completed by the user depending on the type of certificate purchased. Upon receiving the trusted SSL certificate from the issuing Certificate Authority, the user can proceed with the next step of installing the SSL in Windows.
